“試合 SHIAI” COMPETITION

Shiai 試合(Contest) is a vitally important aspect of Submission Arts Wrestling.

As it is only through active competition, where all participants are fully resisting and fully attempting techniques, that the truth is learnt.

This truth is what determines not only the students development in assessing their own progression, but also the systems development as it learns and improves based on the performance of its members.

Through competition students gain points which add towards their next promotion.

These points are based on the rank of their opponent and their level of success. This method of advancement keeps the system strong and developing.

Points:

1.5 points – Defeat a Higher Belt Competitor

1 point – Defeat an Equal Belt Competitor

0.5 point – Defeat a Lower Belt Competitor

0.5 point – Draw with a Higher Belt Competitor

Age and Permanent Physical Restrictions can be taken into consideration, by the ISAWF officials and other requirements may be put in place at their discretion.
